today was one of my favorite days of summer so far!
I spent it with my sweet grandma, my mom, and my sister -- we drive out to my grandparents farm to pick up my grandma, and then we went exploring in some of the small towns nearby for the day.
We first started in Wellington, KS and we stopped in at a little coffee shop called No. 7 Coffee House. It was the most beautiful building with exposed brick and beautiful tall ceilings -- not to mention great coffee, lunch, and cinnamon rolls. I got a blended mocha! It was honestly amazing.
Pictured above is the coffee drink I got and the front window of the coffee shop! (as seen on my Instagram). I just thought it was such an adorable place, and it had a strong Christian influence. I would drive the hour regularly just to drink their coffee!
The next place we went was a teeny tiny town called Oxford, KS. They had little antique stores with lots of different things to look at, as well as a cute little boutique. I got a really cute antique mug which I plan to drink my coffee out of in the morning!
I loved the time I spent with my grandma. I don't think I've ever met a woman quite like her. Her heart for the Lord, her kindness, and her fun spirit are all things I pray would rub off on me. Hearing her stories and her take on life is just amazing. She is strong and wise and lovely. She finds such joy in spending time with me, but I don't think she realizes that I find just as much or more joy being with her!
Then, on the way home, I told my mom we had to stop and pick some wildflowers because I needed some new flowers for the big mason jar in my room. I just love fresh flowers, and I especially love wildflowers and how pretty they look on the side of the road!
I just thought the bouquet I picked was beautiful. I love all the tiny white daisy looking flowers, not to mention the little pops of color. It just makes me so happy!
I have found that I find joy in the simplest things, but I love finding what makes me happy and I know this little bouquet of flowers on my bookshelf in my room will bring me joy for the next few days. I think it is so important to do things to bring yourself joy often.
I ended the day with ice cream with a few of my best friends from high school and sharing conversation and laughs. All in all, it was quite the day! Can't wait to see the adventure that tomorrow brings.
xoxo,
Kenzie
